Trattoria Al Bersagliere, located in the historical centre of Verona, in the heart of the old Filippini neighbourhood, offers a precious occasion to experience the old, authentic tastes of Veronese traditional cuisine.
In our historical restaurant, where faithful love and creative passion meet everyday, we follow the good old traditions of the Italian and Veronese cuisine.
The restaurant has three rooms (piano room, singers room, sport room and a garden, open in the summer) plus a twelfth century cellar which is surely worth a visit.
An interesting fossils collection is hosted in the premises: here you will find a 40.000.000 years old Bolca Palm, a Rhombea, a Odonteus and a recent acquisition, a 90.000.000 years old Nothosaurus discovered in China. Car aficionados will appreciate the original Gilles Villneuve steering wheel and a tracksuit belonging to Carlos Reuteman, 1977 Long Beach winner.
At Al Bersagliere one might encounter celebrities, veronese people and tourists looking for the unadulterated tastes of Veronese cuisine. Among our typical courses: Valpolicella lard, Home-made soppressa (traditional pork salami), Bigoli with duck ragu,, Pasta e fagioli (pasta and beans), Pastissada de caval (horsemeat stew), Baccalà, Tenderloin with rose pepper sauce with pennyroyal and gorgonzola (in season, pomegranate).
Our wine carte features 200 labels, pre-eminently Italian. Rich choice of Veronese wines: 60 Amarone labels. Well-pondered selection of spirits: 60 grappa labels, 280 whiskys, 18 rhums; Oils carte.
Mr Leo Ramponi serves in the dining room, his wife Marina Tezza works in the kitchen.
All of them will welcome your visit.
A sincere thank, hoping to see you soon at Al Bersagliere.
